A is for Aster

My garden was full of bees this afternoon.  They were attracted to the aster.  I did not set out to make a Bee Friendly Garden.  We selected aster to provide our fall color.  This aster is located in our front yard garden where it gets full sun. We dug up a clump about a month ago and gave it to some of our gardening friends in Wisconsin.  We also divided it to place some of it on the corner parkway.  It is true that the aster will grow in any soil as long as it has sufficient drainage.  As I mentioned in our Dirt Rehab post, the soil on the corner parkway is poor, but the aster is doing well and has several blooms
